Cephalic -towards the head, caudal-towards the feet, anterior/ ventral means the front of body, posterior/dorsal is the back of the body.

is an up and down plane that is right angle to the horizon

is a vertical plane that divides the body into unequal left and right portions

also known as the midline, divides the body to an equal left and right halves.

also known as the coronal plane, is the vertical plane that divides the anterior and posterior portions

refers to the front

proximal means situated near midline , and distal means situated farthest from midline. medial means toward or near the midline, and lateral means toward the side and away from midline

refers to the back of the organ or body
