Woodrow Wilson

He was the 28th president of the United States from 1913 to 1921. He was a democrat and the leader of a progressive movement. He served 2 terms which corresponds to the 1st world war.

He was a US politician from the state of Nebraska and a leader of progressive and liberal causes in Congress

Based on moral principles and selfish materialism. America should be neutral in this war because it will cost a lot of money for the country

Wilson didn't want internal discensions in his country. The war became immediatly unpopular in America

America experienced a recession. It expected to gain money from this war, there was an economic gain to make. Germany attacked the Liner Lusitania boat, in 1915.

Wilson wanted to show the inhumanity of the Germans, they represented a danger for the world. German people shouldn't be targeted because they are also victims. He pointed at the barbarism of Germany

America will fight for the good of the humanity and for the rights of all the world citizens. It presents itself as the champion of human rights and human rights.

For him, it's the big business lobbies who want to enter the conflict. The war will not bring prosperity to the country
