Oct. 29th, 1929. Crisis happened. More than 16 million shares changed hands and stock prices plummeted

Shantytowns, or villages made out of cardboard boxes and other debris to provide shelters for those who lost their homes

Projects such as highways, parks and libraries, funded by federal government to create new jobs

WWI veterans who marched on Washington demanding their $1,000 bonus pay before the 1945 due date
