Earth is the third planet from the Sun and is the only planet with life known to exist. It has an abundance of water, air, and land that makes it unique among all other planets in our solar system. The Earth’s atmosphere provides protection from harmful radiation, as well as a temperature that is suitable for life.Earth has four major components: its crust, mantle, core, and atmosphere. The crust is made up of tectonic plates which move slowly over the mantle below them. The mantle is composed of hot flowing rock that gives rise to volcanic activity and earthquakes when two plates move against each other in opposite directions. Below the mantle lies a solid inner core composed largely of iron and nickel, surrounded by molten outer core material made up mostly of iron and sulfur-bearing compounds such as magnesium silicate. Finally above this lies our atmosphere which consists primarily of nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (21%) with trace amounts of carbon dioxide (0.03%), water vapor (1-4%), argon (0.93%), neoneon (0.0018%) along with other gases like methane, ozone etc.. This protective shell shields us from dangerous ultraviolet light rays from space while also providing an environment conducive to life on earth by maintaining temperatures suitable for living organisms to thrive in without freezing or boiling away into nothingness. The Earth also has unique features such as oceans, rivers lakes , mountains , deserts etc that have been shaped over millions of years by various processes including tectonic activity , erosion , chemical weathering etc . All these processes have combined together to form a very diverse landscape filled with a variety of plantlife , animals species and human cultures throughout history . Earth’s biosphere consists of all living things on this planet including humans . We are all interconnected through complex networks linking us together via soil , air and water . Our actions can alter these systems significantly impacting not only ourselves but other species too . As stewards we must take care not only for ourselves but also for our planet so that future generations can live in harmony with nature.
