Dentistry Exams

Dentistry is the branch of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and conditions of the teeth and mouth. It is one of the oldest medical professions, dating back to ancient times when dental problems could be addressed by simply extracting a tooth or using various herbs. Today, dentistry involves a wide range of treatments such as fillings and root canals, crowns and bridges, implants and orthodontics. Dentists use a variety of tools to diagnose, treat and prevent oral health problems. They also educate patients about good oral hygiene practices such as brushing their teeth twice daily with toothpaste containing fluoride and flossing regularly. The primary goal of dentistry is to maintain healthy teeth for life-long oral health. To achieve this goal, dentists use preventive measures such as routine check-ups every six months to ensure that any potential problems are spotted before they cause significant damage or require extensive treatment. During regular visits, dentists also provide education about good oral hygiene practices that help reduce the risk for cavities, periodontal disease (gum disease), bad breath and other dental problems. In addition to preventive care services, most dental offices offer cosmetic procedures such as whitening and veneers in order to improve a person’s appearance.Dentistry has come a long way since ancient times but still requires many years of schooling in order to become proficient in its practice. A dentist must be licensed by their state’s board of dentistry after graduating from an accredited program at either an undergraduate college or higher institution followed by passing all board examinations with success before being able to practice professionally within their state’s laws governing this profession. As technology advances in all areas related to healthcare so too do advancements made within Dentistry allowing new procedures not only for better aesthetics but also providing more efficient ways for treating various issues ranging from simple cavities all the way up through complicated surgical procedures involving placement or removal of certain teeth structures which can increase efficiency while reducing patient discomfort.
