Take your foot off of the brake and steer in the direction that you want to go.

Ease your foot off the gas and brake gently. Try to pump it to build up the pressure.

Hold the steering wheel steady and keep the car pointed forward or in the direction of the road. Avoid sharp turns and oversteering as the momentum may cause your car to spin. Lastly, wait for your tires to gain traction on the road again. It will be apparent when your vehicle stops hydroplaning.

Remain calm and slow down. Avoid the natural urge to slam on your brakes. Instead, ease your foot off the gas pedal. Use a light pumping action on the pedal if you need to brake. If you have anti-lock brakes, you can brake normally. Once you've regained control of your car, take a minute or two to calm yourself down. Pull over in a safe location and take a few deep breaths before continuing your drive.

If you are driving a manual car, it is best to engage second or third gear. If you are driving an automatic car, you should shift into gear "3", "2", or "L", whichever your car's gearbox has.

Drive carefully, and avoid making fast turns and sudden stops

Reverse, turn to your right so you can see through the back window.

Can result in the locking of the front brake, causing a loss of steering. To avoid the need for excessive braking, make sure to maintain an appropriate speed for conditions.
