In 1876 , three Southern States were disputed during the Presidential election, a winner could not be decided --- so there was deal or a compromise between the republican and democrats 1. *Republicans agreed to Democrats controlling the South and Removal of all federal troops from southern states.* This would bring *formal end to reconstruction* 2. *Democrats agreed to to the Republican candidate Rutherford Hayes to be the winner and become the president* . 3.*Democrats agreed for equal rights for Blacks*
