This gives us a better understanding of the role chess will play in Waverly's life and in the neighborhood.

The speakers point of view is first person in lieu of the fact that diction such as "I" and "my" are utilized. The speaker's point of view in the poem "In My Mind" by Kate Engelbert is first-person. We know this because the poem speaks through the use of "I" and "my".

The narrator recalls playing baseball with General Henry T. Corrigan. He was saying that despite being a famous Army Officer, General Corrigan was a man who never forgot where he came or the people he grew up with. Despite his honors and rank, he was still same kid the narrator knew from many years ago. That fact that he greeted him with such enthusiasm tells a lot about the man behind the rank.

The victims we're four children and traveled as a group after finishing their sunday lessons. The children had gone to the basement and wanted to change into choir clothes and they we're killed.

The choir kept singing of Freedom. Singing about freedom from racism, from all of the hate and they in my opinion are singing for justice for those girls

Well, I would say that Anne clings to her ideals because of the horrific world around her. Even though she is surrounded by grief and tragedy, and fear of dying at any moment, she doesn't give in to that fear, and tries to live her life according to her own ideals, regardless of whether she is going to die tomorrow, or in ten years. she believes they have it within their power to build a bigger, better and more beautiful world, but that they occupy themselves with superficial things, without giving a thought to true beauty.

Pim is the name Anne uses when referring to her father.

She remembers getting some Christmas presents in Jerome. Her grandmother made her a pair of mittens. Most of the presents they received were made from things people found in camp. Her dad made a cute woodpecker to put by their door so she would know which room was their home. All of the barracks and doors looked alike. She was only four and could not read the letters and numbers on the buildings, so she would get lost sometimes after using the bathroom.

Before they were interned they lived on a small farm in Florin, California.
