These Pentagon Papers revealed that the government had kept information about the war from Congress and the public. At first Nixon tried to block New York Times from publishing the information, but Congress ruled that the papers have the constitutional right to publish any information they have. The Pentagon Papers caused Americans to believe that the U.S. may lose the War in Vietnam.

Consequently, the U.S. and many other UN nations condemned Hussein for his attack and sent in troops to help force the Iraqi invaders out. In the end Iraq and the UN could not reach an agreement, but Hussein was outnumbered and eventually Bush offered Hussein a cease-fire agreement. Hussein accepted.

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory killed many of their workers because there was no way for the employees to leave (they were locked in). This fire inspired more women to join the Ladies Garment Workers Union.
